Sensory Water Bottles

These sensory bottles are not only mesmerizing to watch, but require zero prep (aside from drinking a s&*t ton of water).  Staying hydrated + entertaining your kids = win win.

Glitter Bottles

  • Water bottle
  • Glitter (a combination of fine and chunky works best!)

Add glitter to water and SHAKE!   I will save you some time and tell you that I tried various syrups and glues and Pinterest-y recipes and I felt that water alone worked best.  I caught Ford just laying on the floor watching his.  Feel free to use as a timeout or calming tool.

Oil & Water Bottle

My favorite, add a few drops of liquid watercolor to your water.  Next, add in the oil – I like mineral oil or baby oil because it’s clear. Then twist and turn it, this is so oddly relaxing. The color only adheres to the water and not the oil so you have this really cool separation.  You can leave it at this or add Alka Seltzer tablets for a lava lamp effect my kids went crazy over!

Party in a Bottle

Finally, Tess and I made a “party in a bottle.” You can really put anything in this – little mini pom poms, twisted pipe cleaners, and cut up ribbon. Make sure to use hot glue around the caps if you’re worried about them opening (especially with babies). Tess loved this and it’s such a great, free toy for babies.
